Tominated: check if trayserver.exe is running at startup and if it is, diable it using msconfig. that may solve your problem.

does the Sync utility allow you to synchronize folders across a network on two different computers in a batch mode.

I found this in the Help files

Folder Synchronizer copies or moves files between two different folders.
When would you want to use Folder Synchronizer? Here are some ideas:

· You have files that you edit on both your laptop computer and your desktop computer. Both machines need the latest version of those files.
· Your share of the network is backed up every night. Your PC is backed up when you get around to it. Synchronize local data with the network share.
· Back up selected files to a diskette or other external drive rather than using a dedicated backup utility.

I think i found the problem. I screwed up litestep (i'll fix it later) and went back to explorer. I found that litestep only showed the systray icons that i normaly use (it has that little arrow to show them all) and those were the ones that were shown on litestep. if i turn the 'hide' function off, will it fix it?

if i turn the 'hide' function off, will it fix it?

No...that 'hide' function is Explorer....the shell.

Litestep has a module loaded [normally].....eg systray.dll [or similar] that will give you the loaded icons....however, as I said earlier...not all icons will necessarily show as some are dependent on the Explorer shell process....

did you check if trayserver.exe was running?
on Apr 04, 2005
with the correct wine config it could be run (afaik it was contemplated to make it the official shell of e/os lx, a linux distro, but reactos wm was chosen instead), but woudnt be integrated as it should.

plus, wine doesn't run .dll files at the same time of the origonal .exe file.
